Two years into a global pandemic that forced millions of families to lose their jobs and incomes to no fault of their own, big real estate successfully lobbied to end local and state eviction moratoriums, propelling evictions to surge across the state. This is no more evident than in Antioch where eviction rates have been higher than anywhere else in the entire Bay Area. That’s why Antioch renters are fighting to pass three policies - Rent Control, Just-Cause and Tenant Anti-Harassment ordinances, to keep housing affordable, protect us from unfair evictions and stop landlord harassment.
