Since the first shelter in place order, ACCE has organized dozens of Oakland buildings for a rent strike - tenants are collectively withholding rent to ensure their families can eat and access healthcare during the pandemic and to pressure landlords to negotiate for full rent forgiveness with tenants who just can’t pay.
