→ Very recently we have seen just how important it is to have allies in elected office. When members of the community called for affordable housing and tenant protections, we saw how Monica Wilson rose to the occasion, and helped ensure a victory for Antioch renters. Monica Wilson joined fellow councilmember (and ACCE-endorsed candidate) Tamisha Torres-Walker, and Mayor Lamar Thorpe, in voting YES for rent control in Antioch. Additionally, Monica Wilson has pledged her continued support and leadership on securing mental health resources, creating a citizen’s police oversight committee, and developing affordable housing. ACCE looks forward to helping to make sure Monica Wilson is reelected to serve a new term as councilmember, and we look forward to staying engaged on ways to serve and benefit the community.
