ACCE Transit Chapter

ACCE Transit Chapter leaders have been fighting over the last few months to Protect our Successful Youth Ryde Free Transit Program in Sacramento. After the original proposal to completely cut the program from the city's budget, ACCE members and community leaders spoke out with dozens of public comments, hundreds of postcards & emails, press conferences & multiple news articles from varied outlets. The result was Mayor Steinberg's proposal of $250,000 from the City of Sacramento and Sacramento School Districts & SacRT paying the remaining $750,000.

Although we believe that the already underfunded Sacramento School Districts paying part of the bill is inequitable, the fight ahead will consist of demanding representation for school districts as well as keeping the program intact for future youth riders. This is a HUGE win for the Sacramento ACCE Transit  Chapter and look forward to the next Transit Fight!
